If David Was Senegambian started in my room then, at my family home in Busumbala, The Gambia. A bunch of beats, hums at 3am and my iPhone X were the first tools I used to etch down history—an album that blends the gospel we have so much confidence in, the everyday lingo of that young Senegambian, with sounds that represent home through and through.
"If David Was Senegambian" moves through fourteen tracks that capture faith for a better tomorrow, gratitude to our Father cum maker, surrender to our Lord and Savior and confidence in the fact that we are salt and we are light in this world—you can call that ego tripping. Every track was crafted with deep intentionality, late nights and sacrifices. Every instrumental resounds the story of where we belong.
This album is Senegambia, Africa, gifting the world a rare opportunity to experience us, what we live everyday and ultimately who we live every moment for.
